Frederick (Rick) Gunion, ESQ.

Frederick (Rick) Gunion is a highly respected trial attorney who focuses on medical malpractice and personal injury litigation. He has represented clients in virtually every facet of negligence litigation in his more than 40 years of practicing law.

Gunion has handled more than 150 high-profile and high-value jury trials in Florida and in the U.S. Virgin Islands. He has obtained verdicts and settlements surpassing $1 million more than 25 times, in cases involving motor vehicle accidents, texting-related accidents, negligent security issues, defective product litigation, medical malpractice, and boating accidents.

He is a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, one of the most prestigious groups of trial lawyers in the United States. Fewer than 1 percent of U.S. lawyers are members of this group, which is limited to attorneys who have won million- and multimillion-dollar verdicts and settlements.

In addition, Gunion has been voted into the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), an invitation-only national association of experienced trial lawyers and judges. ABOTA and its members are dedicated to the preservation and promotion of the civil jury trial right provided by the Seventh Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. Fewer than 1 percent of U.S. lawyers are admitted as members to the organization.

In 2017 and 2018, he was selected to the Florida Super Lawyers list as a top-rated personal injury attorney in Miami, Florida.

Admitted to and actively practicing in all courts in Florida, both state and federal, Gunion is a member of the American Bar Association, American Association for Justice, The Florida Bar, Florida Justice Association, and Dade County Bar Association.

A native and current resident of Miami-Dade County, Gunion is an avid angler who is well known in the Southeast Florida fishing/fishing tournament community. He has earned a spot in the International Game Fish Association’s Fishing Hall of Fame 34 times.
