Founding Partner

Michael Freedland is the founding partner of Freedland Harwin Valori, PL. He has practiced law in South Florida for more than 20 years. Throughout that time, he has been involved in a number of high-profile and high-value cases throughout the state of Florida and those of national interest. He is also active in the community and he advocates for consumers’ rights through legislative change.

Freedland focuses his practice on a myriad of cases

Freedland focuses his practice on cases involving medical malpractice, pharmaceutical liability, products liability, as well as whistleblower matters and those involving catastrophic injury from motor vehicle accidents. He has recovered more than $100,000,000 on behalf of his clients and has the distinction of achieving his first verdict over one-million dollars before the age of 30.

Freedland was also one of the first attorneys in South Florida to file litigation related to the dangers of Phen-Fen, a popular weight loss drug combination that proved to have deadly side effects. A number of years later, he became a leading voice around the country on the safety of cosmetic procedures at day spas, through his representation of women who have died in various incidents throughout South Florida. His work on those cases caught the attention of national media outlets such as Good Morning America, CNN, and the Katie Couric show.

Freedland is involved with organizations that lobby for strong consumer laws and also aim to strengthen the legal profession.

When he is not advocating for clients in court, Freedland is involved with organizations that lobby for strong consumer laws and also aim to strengthen the legal profession. He is a member of the Florida Justice Association, American Association for Justice, the Broward County Justice Association and serves on the Florida Bar Grievance Committee. He has also served on the Florida Democratic Party’s Executive Committee.

Freedland is equally devoted to a variety of social and charitable causes

He has served as a board member and past president of the Rotary Club of Weston. He also co-chairs and sponsors the Club’s annual charity golf tournament, title sponsored by our firm, which raises tens of thousands of dollars each year for college scholarships. He also devotes time and money to supporting the annual Harvest Drive, which provides food for families in Broward County during the Thanksgiving holidays.

Freedland received both his law degree and bachelors of arts degree from the University of Miami. He is a member of the Florida Bar.
