A birth injury is an injury that occurs during the labor and delivery process. But there are a lot of other injuries that can occur in the prenatal process or in the time immediately post delivery, which is called the neonatal time period. But a birth injury is, by definition, something that occurs after the woman goes into labor up until the point that the child is actually delivered.
